Policies and Restrictions
The following are the policies and restrictions for slip rental in the East Shore Marina at Bear Lake
· Slips are assigned by the Harbormaster. Requests can be made for specific slips, which will be honored if possible, but there is no guarantee.
· Slips are not transferrable. Sub-leasing of slips is prohibited.
· Renter is allowed use of two boats per slip. Registration each boat must be submitted with annual rent. In the event renter sells/purchases alternate boat, it is the renters responsibility to inform East Shore Marina of the new registration number.
· Vessel must be registered with Utah or Idaho, and proof of current registration must be clearly visible on the vessel.
· Vessel must be maintained in seaworthy condition.
· Slips will be maintained in a safe and functional state. However, slips are rented “as is,” and rental of a slip does not imply that any particular modifications or upgrades will be made. If there is any part of the docks or marina that is in a state of disrepair or of concern, this should be reported to the Harbormaster right away so that it can be repaired.
· Commercial activity is prohibited. No rental of watercraft, carrying of paying passengers, or other commercial activity is allowed. Violation of this will constitute grounds for immediate termination of the lease.
· Boat owners assume their own risk for damage or loss to their vessel or other property regardless of the cause. Boat owners must carry insurance for property loss or damage subject to the laws of either the State of Utah or State of Idaho. This includes but is not limited to loss or damage as a result of fire, wind, snow, rain or other weather related causes.
· Boat owners will conform with the rules and regulations related to invasive aquatic species for either the State of Utah or State of Idaho. For the State of Utah, boaters must complete the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Mussel Aware Boater program (STDoftheSea.Utah.gov). For the State of Idaho, boaters must review relevant materials and purchase an Invasive Species Boat Sticker from Idaho Parks and Recreation (idfg.idaho.gov/info/boat-stickers). All boaters must also have their vessels inspected by the relevant authority before launching and storing their vessel in the marina.
· Boaters will maintain a NO WAKE speed limit inside marina and for 100 feet outside mouth of marina, as marked by bouys.
· No swimming is allowed in the marina.
· No fishing is allowed in the marina.
· No parties are allowed in the marina.
- No loud music
- No more people on a vessel than that vessel’s maximum capacity
· No residential occupancy of boats is allowed in the marina.
· Dock area around rented slip must be kept tidy and free of clutter, litter and trash.
· No storage of anything on the dock area. Everything must be stored in your vessel.
· No modification to docks or attaching things to them without express written permission from the marina owners is allowed.
· Vessels must be secured adequately, and able to withstand high winds and wave action. Bumpers must be present on both sides of the vessel.
· No open fires allowed on marina property. Use of grilling or cooking apparatus within the marina property is prohibited. Use of electrical or gas heating equipment is also prohibited within the marina property.
· Vessels may not extend more than two feet past dock. If Lessee misstated boat length, another slip will be assigned if available, plus a penalty charge. If a larger slip is not available, the lease for this vessel will be cancelled, and return of rental fees will be at the discretion of the marina owners.
· Lessee will inform Harbormaster of any needed slip or dock repairs, or any unsafe condition of or situation with the Marina infrastructure.
· Courtesy and consideration to fellow boaters must be observed at all times. If the harbormaster receives three complaints about a lessee from fellow boaters within a season, they will forfeit their slip and be barred from future rental for two years. Failure to remove the vessel after being barred from the marina for violation of any of these policies can result in the vessel being impounded.
I have read and fully comprehend and understand all Rules and Regulations. I understand that if I (or anyone in my party) fails to comply, I could loose my privilege to rent a slip in the East Shore Marina.
